My tune is now at 14 psi (I think stock is 12 or something close). Powerband is a lot flatter now too which is nice, it's only the stage 1 tune! But it still needs more boost! I'm getting my downpipe on and getting a protune for 15-16 psi until I can find a bigger turbo I like!

I was thinking more along the lines of a TD06 20G or 18G haha!

What are the sizes of the compressor and the turbine?

The induce/exducer on the compressor is 52.6/68mm on a TD06 20g and the turbine induce/exducer is 55.1/65mm

That is a pretty nicely sized turbo! May all your power needs be acquired safely and swiftly!

I want to blow up my 5 speed so I have an excuse to get an STI 6 speed swap going. Trans, hubs, brakes, axles, and diffs are what I want!!

Man I want a Forester XT. Closest thing to an SUV I have ever really liked. I love how flat it corners.

Literally the best thing I ever bought, I love my E30's but this has all the practicality of a Forester and all the fun of a WRX/STI.

Yeah I test drove one pretty much out of curiosity and almost got the loan until an emergency came up and there went my down payment. I hate the high center of gravity in SUVs and all the blind spots and this has none of those. I'm convinced it has to be the best winter vehicle....In the World.

Oh my god last winter was dangerously fun with this car.

Subaru understands that people use these things for light exploration. All of pillars are thin and there's glass everywhere. I had a 4th gen for loaner. A base model. It was cracking little CUV. I even enjoyed the CVT.
Always opt for the massive sun roof, though. Always.

Hows the reliability? I really like the Outback XT, but everything I read makes me think the head gaskets, bottom end, and turbo will all grenade at 100K miles.
Also whats highway mpg like in the forester?

Before tune it was like 24 but now I can get 29-30 if I drive right. So far reliability is great, head gaskets were really only a problem on open deck and older turbo models. I have about 130k on my engine and it runs like its new. I plan on doing a full rebuild soon though with some better internals.

That's awesome MPG's. My XT was lucky to get 23 on the highway. It did about 20 average on the stock tune. With a tune my WRX went from 23 average to around 21 average. I was running around 300 hp

I am sort of hyper mile-ing it too, I really baby it to get that MPG. But it wont be getting mileage like that for too long, I want to have about 330w/tq before I build it with an STI trans.

So which years had the better motors. Are you rebuilding so support more power, or due to some wear? blow-by, compression loss ect.

STI motors are better all together in terms of internals. But some blocks had issues with the lower end I think mine is affected but not sure. I had a ghost misfire issue when I bought it, the dealership said some exhaust valves are burnt. So I just want to get new rods/pistons and MAYBE a crank, just so I have a good rotating assembly, then just refinish the block and stock heads so it's basically a new motor. New valves too.
